The judicial arm of the University’s Interfraternity Council is investigating nine reports of hazing among multiple chapters.
The council’s leaders and chapter presidents met with Aaron Bachenheimer, director of fraternity and sorority life and community involvement, and Dean of Students Jonathan Sauls on Wednesday to address the reports and review the University’s hazing policy.
Nine reports of hazing is an unusually large number to be dealing with at any one time, Bachenheimer said.
IFC President Jack Partain said the high volume of reports might be due to a stricter judicial process implemented in recent years.
Will Lindsey, chairman of the Greek Judicial Board, said he could not provide any details of the reports, including the chapters involved, because the investigation is ongoing.
