Tami Hansbrough has resigned from her position as a major gifts officer in the office of Student Affairs, effective immediately, according to a University press release sent Wednesday.
Hansbrough, the mother of former UNC basketball star Tyler Hansbrough, was placed on administrative leave on Sept. 10 after an investigation was launched into her and Matt Kupec’s travel records.
Kupec, the former vice chancellor for University advancement, resigned Sunday when Chancellor Holden Thorp approached him about the investigation.
Hansbrough started in her position in 2011, reporting to Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Winston Crisp.
The University’s internal auditor will conduct an audit of all travel-related expenses. University officials have said they might also engage a third-party auditor to review the expenses.
