UNC Chancellor Carol Folt was cited for speeding in Pittsboro on U.S. Highway 64 near Haw River at 3:54 p.m. on Jan. 1. Folt was going 76 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour speed zone when she was pulled over by Officer P.J. Carroll, according to the citation. She will appear in court on Feb. 6.
