TO THE EDITOR:
Wow, as a disabled person and an alum, I wish someone had let me have a panic attack and miss class back in 2008 when a genetics professor suggested disabled infants or — excuse me — “fetuses” — (wouldn’t want to trigger another mental health episode for you) should be terminated.
I grew up in Chapel Hill. I attended UNC. I have cerebral palsy. The selective outrage in town is beyond a joke, and I am glad I moved away in 2012. It’s not a place I’d want to raise my 8-month-old son in.
I read The Daily Tar Heel, a paper I wrote for as a student, for entertainment purposes when I have a slow day at the office. I am always amused to find out what the manufactured existential crisis du jour is.
