The Daily Tar Heel is known for being a legacy newspaper that tells the stories of the campus and the community. But there are so many stories within the newsroom that never make it to the public. So we're putting faces to bylines, bringing the people into our world at 151 E. Rosemary St.
Know your newsroom. This week, meet junior José Valle, visual managing editor and new 21-year-old.
I wish I remembered most of my 21st birthday.
And no, it’s not what you think. I wasn’t wasted. I was too tired from spending endless hours here in the office.
But that’s another story.
I turned 21 on Tuesday, Aug. 23, better known as FDOC. I would have probably followed the usual birthday traditions if I didn’t have to be up at 6:30 a.m.
The thing is, I love dancing. I love these songs. I love working in this office. And none of these are exclusive. I can enjoy them all at the same time.
These are some of my most favorite artists, and choosing just one or two songs by them was excruciatingly hard. But I did it. They tell the story of my ideal 21st birthday. See if you can figure out what that means.
While I may not remember most of my 21st birthday, I remember a lot of good times spent listening to these tunes.
