Thirsty Thirsday: the best bar specials at UNC

6376_lindasfrontf.jpg

Nestled in between East End and McAlister’s on E. Franklin St., Linda’s is well-known for its cheese fries.

It’s Monday at 7 p.m. and you’re stressed. A drink would be nice, but you don’t want to break the bank. Or maybe it’s a Thursday and all your friends are going out but you swore you would save money for the rest of the weekend.

Whatever the dilemma, everyone loves a good special. That’s why we’ve assembled Chapel Hill’s best bar specials every night of the week. BALL OUT, TAR HEELS. But drink responsibly.

Monday

Sup Dogs’ Mug Night is one of the best deals of the week. Bring in any receptacle that can hold liquid and they will fill it with beer for $2 to $3. Bring your favorite cup from home or try something new, like a pickle jar.

Not the beer type? I see you. Check out the $3 wells at Linda’s or half-off wine bottles at Top of the Hill.

Tuesday

The infamous Chapel Hill Tuesday has gotten the best of so many students. It’s easy to see why, as it’s arguably the most affordable night of the week.

I recommend trivia at Goodfellows or He’s Not Here to start. He’s Not has $5 Blue Cups, while Goodfellows offers $3.50 Long Island Iced Teas and $2.50 shooters.

Later on in the night, you can check out any of these deals.

Pantana Bob’s: $2 Bud Lights/Budweisers, $4 doubles.

TRU: $3 wells

Country Fried Duck: $1 PBR, $3 Fireball

TOPO: $3 shooters, bartender’s choice

Wednesday

He’s Not usually gets all the attention on Wednesdays with Pint Night. Purchase a Blue Cup and get a free Pint Glass of the Week. Then you can finally tell your mom you furnished the kitchen with nice new glasses!

You can also find $3.50 wells at Linda’s and $4 margaritas at TRU.

Thursday

This is about to blow your mind, but Country Fried Duck has a $2.50 special on Thursday for everything. That means all drinks and all beers for two dollars and fifty cents. This is where you take your roommate when you offer to buy them a drink for doing your laundry.

TOPO’s best deals are on Thursdays, with $3 wheat beers and $5 Kansas City Ice Waters. Sup Dogs’ Sup Crush is $4, so you don’t have to stop drinking when you finish the night with cheese fries!

Friday

Personally, I like to take it easy on Friday. That’s why it’s a perfect night for $4 off bottles of wine at TRU. Split one with a friend and save even more.

Saturday

On Saturday, head to Linda’s for $4 Mystic, pickleback, and Fireball shots. You can also try the TRU tequila flight, which is $2 off.

Sunday

Finish off the week with half-off drinks at Goodfellows, or watch the big game at Sup Dogs with $2.50 bottles.
