A definitive ranking of Girl Scout cookies

If you've never had a Girl Scout cookie, you're probably dead inside. That is not an exaggeration, folks, these things are the gifts of the angels.

Before we get started, I have to admit that because I'm out-of-state (yay Florida) the cookies I know and love might be different from the ones here in Chapel Hill. So, I'm only going to rank the five staples of the Girl Scout cookie inventory. If your favorite is not one of them, I'm sorry?

1. Samoas/Caramel DeLites

Vanilla cookies topped with caramel, sprinkled with toasted coconut, and laced with chocolaty stripes.

Taste: 10/10

Addiction Level: HIGH, RED ALERT, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STOP

Note: Samoas are not the same as Caramel DeLites. Well, not exactly. Somehow they are so much better.

2. Thin Mints

Crispy chocolate wafers dipped in a mint chocolaty coating.

Taste: 9/10

Addiction Level: Pretty high, but nobody ever wants too much mint at one time

3. Tagalongs/Peanut Butter Patties

Crispy vanilla cookies layered with peanut butter and covered with a chocolaty coating.

Taste: 7/10

Addiction Level: Because these are so easy to pop in your mouth and devour, I'd say they straddle the line between medium and high addiction levels

4. Trefoils/Shortbread

Traditional shortbread cookies.

Taste: 5/10

Addiction Level: Low. They're very simple and sweet cookies, so like everything else simple and sweet, we humans tend to be able to control ourselves

5. Dosidos/Peanut Butter Sandwich

Crisp and crunchy oatmeal cookies with creamy peanut butter filling.

Taste: 3/10

Addiction Level: Meh.

Disagree with me? What's your favorite Girl Scout cookie?
