Jazra Standley is a sophomore health policy and management major from Denver, N.C.

The winter gods of Chapel Hill have finally decided to make their visits permanent, and boy, am I thankful. While most people are going to use this as an opportunity to dust off their North Faces and UGG boots, the stylish few will take a more unconventional and daring approach.

Take Jazra Standley, for example. The sophomore health policy and management major from Denver, N.C., sure knows how to work the winter look. From the rockin’ red boots to those playful purple Beats, I couldn’t help but be drawn in by her outfit choice.

And don’t even get me started on that white peacoat. If there’s any sort of outerwear that trumps all the rest, it’s the peacoat, and Standley’s choice of one in white just adds to its magnificence. If you need anything this winter, it’s a peacoat, and if #PeacoatsForever doesn’t start trending on Twitter, then something is truly wrong with the world. (I love peacoats a lot, OK?)

All right, back to my favorite fashionista from Friday afternoon. Believe it or not, Standley doesn’t usually dress like this. She tends to go for a more comfortable look and said she normally wears sweats. Though this is totally fine, she definitely could’ve fooled me.

Her favorite places to shop include Forever 21 and Target, and I can’t blame her. It’s almost impossible for me to leave Target without some sort of new shirt.

Standley said she puts limited amount of thought into her outfits and generally lets her roommate or mother pick out her clothes. She’s a lot like my sister, a senior in high school, in that regard; my sister normally asks me for advice on what she should wear.

“I mainly just like dressing for the weather and being comfortable,” Standley said. “But when I have certain fashionable clothes, I like to accent those a lot.”

Well, you’re doing it right, Ms. Standley. Keep it up as you keep warm.
