Hillel celebrates Israel Fest in the Pit

The Hillel  offered students in the Pit a taste of Israel today with falafel and pita as a part of its annual Israel Fest.

The campus Jewish group sold falafel for a dollar throughout the day to fundraise for the American Jewish World Service.

Students could also share their response to the prompt "When I think of Israel" and learn to write their name in Hebrew.

“We don’t have the biggest population on campus, but it is important for other students to be aware of other things going on in the world and other cultures,” said Jessie Stellini, the group's co-president.

The Hillel also advertised for a group trip to Israel called Birth Right.

On the ten day trip, students visit the Western Wall, where it is tradition to write a small prayer on a note and leave it at the wall.

Hillel members in the Pit provided students the opportunity to write a note for the group to bring to the wall.
