At Monday’s press conference, North Carolina football coach Larry Fedora spoke about the newly released depth chart for Saturday’s season opener against Elon.
Fedora said that Giovani Bernard, Romar Morris and A.J. Blue will all see snaps at the tailback position thought Bernard is listed as the starter.
Also of note Bernard is listed as the punt returner along with wide receiver Roy Smith but Fedora said if the season started today, Bernard would return punts.
The three starting wide receivers will be Erik Highsmith, Sean Taply and Jheranie Boyd.
On the other side of the ball, Dion Guy will be the starting bandit and Gene Robinson will start as the ram — two positions unique to UNC’s new defensive scheme.
