UPDATE: Freshman outfielder Skye Bolt will be out indefinitely with a broken second metatarsal in his right foot.
He will be evaluated in Chapel Hill on Monday by Dr. Alex Creighton to determine a more concrete timetable, a team spokesperson said.
Bolt was initially ruled out for the just remainder of North Carolina’s weekend series with Virginia Tech after fouling a ball off his foot in Friday’s 21-8 win.
The freshman is batting .392 AVG/.509 OBP/.648 SLG with six home runs and 41 RBI and has batted out of the cleanup spot this season.
Fellow outfielder Chaz Frank, a senior, returned from a hamstring injury Friday and homered.
