On Tuesday night, the Carrboro Board of Alderman voted to indefinitely postpone a public hearing scheduled for the rezoning of a property for CVS.
The hearing, which was originally scheduled for April 17, was postponed after CVS asked for more time to make revisions to its current concept plan, said Alderman Dan Coleman.
“Depending on the nature of their revisions they may require additional round of reviews from the planning or advisory board,” he said.
Leigh Polzella, the developer for the project, said that there is no definitive time frame that CVS will need to consider revisions to their concept plan made by the Planning Board.
“Following the comments made during the March 1 Planning Board Public Hearing and the March 15 Planning Board Working Session, we concluded that more time was needed for plan evaluation,” she said in an email.
The postponement comes after a petition was filed earlier this month by residents which required the Board to have a three-fourths majority rule to approve the rezoning for the business, which has caused considerable controversy.
