The Chapel Hill Fire Department is still investigating the source of a fire that sent two people to UNC Hospitals and severely damaged eight units at the Brookstone Apartment Complex.
The fire, which broke out at about 11:07 p.m. on Oct. 31, took over an hour to bring under control. Three Chapel Hill units, one Carrboro unit, one Hillsborough unit and two Durham units worked together to control the blaze.
The N.C. Bureau of Investigation is working with the Chapel Hill Fire Marshal to determine the cause of the fire. The investigation could last several days and perhaps longer.
