Mullet Link Not Meant as Offensive, FFC Apologizes For It\

The Freshmen Focus Council should not be chastised for making a concerted effort to reach out to first-year students as it was in an article concerning a link on the Web site to http://www.mulletsgalore.com. In the past, the information that was provided to first-year students proved to be disassociated and broad.

The FFC created a Web site to consolidate the information that first-year students need to endure their first year at UNC. The links that appeared on Freshman Central were in no way meant to be offensive and all were in jest. Our apologies go out to those of you who were offended.

Nevertheless, mullets should not be held as a damaging stereotype. I am a proud member of the mullet community. The mullet should be cherished as an American tradition.
