Barksdale, who was invited by the WNBA to attend the draft in the NBA Entertainment Studios in Secaucus, N.J., was the 12th pick overall.
"I'm excited but more relieved to find out where I'm going," Barksdale said during a telephone interview.
Brown was the 49th overall selection, going to the Seattle Storm.

ATLANTA -- North Carolina topped Georgia Tech 5-3 in the Yellow Jackets' final home softball game of the year Sunday afternoon at Glenn Field.
The Tar Heels scored first and held off a late Tech rally as they improved to 30-17-1 overall and 4-2 in the ACC.
