UNC Splits Up for Weekend Track Meets

The Texas Relays, celebrating its 74th year, is hosted by the University of Texas at Austin and features both high school and collegiate divisions.

The meet kicks off on Thursday at 2 p.m. with the women's hammer throw. The meet will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. The final event, the 4x400-meter relay, is scheduled to begin at 4:25 p.m. on Saturday.

The Duke Invitational will be held Friday and Saturday at Wallace Wade Stadium. More than 2,000 athletes will represent 78 schools in this year's event. In 2000, UNC's Sal Gigante won the men's discus throw with a mark of 171-2.

The meet begins on Friday at 2 p.m. with the women's hammer throw and concludes with the men's 10,000-meter run at 10:30 p.m. Saturday's events run all day beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the 1,500-meter run and concludes at 5:50 p.m. with the men's 4x400-meter relay.
