Sure some writers will talk about the 83,106 strong who filled Darrell K. Royal -- Texas Memorial Stadium. Some mention the tremendous longhorn, Bevo, who sat placidly on the field while he watched Texas choose the final score to honor a fallen Texas player whose number happened to be 44. This isn't a sports column so I won't mention much more about the game.
What I want to do is provide a post-facto explanation for Mack Brown's departure. In a three-round bout, I'll do my best to use terms that those who don't care much about football can understand.
