TO THE EDITOR:
I support the election of Ed Harrison to the Chapel Hill Town Council. In my work as former executive director of the Triangle J Council of Governments, as former president of the Triangle Land Conservancy and as a private resident, I have known Harrison for some 25 years.
I acknowledge that he has not been backward in offering advice on environmental and growth management concerns -- but that is an asset, not a liability. His advice has consistently been based on thorough knowledge and on reasoned appreciation of alternatives. I came to expect good judgements from Harrison -- and I am not disappointed.
