TO THE EDITOR:
This is a thank you to all the professors and experts that contributed their time and energies to the Qatar Seminar, particularly Professors Robert Adler and Holden Thorp for leading the student seminar.
Though Professors Thorp and Adler were openly in favor of the proposal to build a business school in Qatar, I cannot imagine two more candid, amenable, and gracious hosts for such an endeavor.
For instance, after one of our classes where I expressed my skepticism for some aspects of the Qatar proposal, Dr. Adler pulled me aside as I was leaving and thanked me for being open with my concerns, remarking that "this is what academia is all about."
Thanks to their efforts, not only did students learn a great deal about everything from natural resources to Middle Eastern history, but we were also able to make educated recommendations to Chancellor James Moeser, ones that I truly believe he took to heart in making his decision.
Thank you for your efforts, your time and your guidance. They were greatly appreciated.
