The Daily Tar Heel

The Lowdown On Tonight's Game

Game:

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: Cole Field House

Radio: 100.7 FM, WCHL-1360 AM

Television: ESPN2

Keys for UNC: North Carolina must maintain some sense of composure and intelligence against Maryland's pressure -- something it didn't do against Wake Forest. Turnovers helped the Demon Deacons to a 10-2 advantage in the first 3:17, and they never looked back.

Keys for Maryland: The Terrapins, as usual, like to run and put pressure on the ball. If the Terps can dig an early hole for UNC, they'll run the Tar Heels to death and bury them in it. North Carolina can't match up athletically.

UNC Bench: Adam Boone and Brian Morrison have provided a spark off the bench recently. Don't be surprised in Boone gets inserted back in the starting lineup at point to try to avoid the ball-handling troubles UNC had early against Wake Forest.

Maryland Bench: After Juan Dixon and Lonny Baxter, Maryland are balanced. Seven Terrapins average more than 20 minutes and six points per game. Chris Wilcox (9 points, 4 rebounds) and Ryan Randle (12 points, 8 rebounds, 5 blocks) stepped up against Norfolk State as Baxter sat with a sprained ankle.

Prediction: Maryland 85, UNC 66
