- University police arrested Grey Edward Huddleston, 20, of 4011 N. Fremont Drive in Greensboro for provisional licensee driving while intoxicated at 3:11 a.m. Reports state that an officer observed the student driving outside his lane as he turned from Country Club to Battle Lane.
After field sobriety tests, the officer determined he had been driving while intoxicated and Huddleston was taken to the Chapel Hill Police Department for an Intoxilyzer test, reports state.
Huddleston registered a .02 blood alcohol content and was released on written promise to appear in Orange County District Court in Chapel Hill on Oct. 15, reports state.
Monday, August 19
- University police arrested James McCrae Lamb, 19, of 254 Graham Residence Hall, for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 8:56 p.m. Reports state that an officer on foot patrol in Coker Arboretum noticed the smell of marijuana and followed the odor to a bench where Lamb was seated.
Upon questioning, the officer found in his possession less than half an ounce of marijuana and a package of cigars.
The dean of students and area director were notified before Lamb was cited and released.
