UNC Inches Closer to Top ACC Tourney Seed

The 30-28, 30-21, 27-30, 30-25 win improves the Tar Heels' record to 25-2 overall and 12-1 in the ACC, while Wake falls to 13-15 (6-8).

Sophomore outside hitter Molly Pyles led the way for the Tar Heels with 23 kills and 11 digs.

Senior outside hitter Laura Greene recorded a double-double for the fifth straight match with 15 kills and 16 digs.

On Friday, UNC defeated Duke 3-0 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Laura Greene led the Tar Heels with 21 digs and 16 kills, including hitting seven of eight attempts in the first game with no errors for a North Carolina single-game record .875 hitting percentage.

Rowing Places 3rd

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- The North Carolina novice women's rowing squad finished out its fall competition on Sunday with a successful race at the Rivanna Romp.

In the novice eight race, UNC's A boat finished third overall (15:34.4) and the Tar Heels' B boat came in sixth (6:18.2) in a 13-boat field.

Pinchbeck Falls in Quarterfinals

DALLAS -- Senior Kate Pinchbeck avenged her loss at the ITA Regional Finals to Clemson's Julie Coin by defeating Coin 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 in the second round of the ITA Indoor National Championships. Pinchbeck advanced to the quarterfinals, where she was defeated by Alexis Gordon of Florida 6-2, 6-2.

Sophomore Kendall Cline defeated Vida Mulec of Baylor 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 in her first consolation match on Friday. Stanford's Lauren Barnikow then defeated Cline 6-2, 6-0 in the second round.
