TO THE EDITOR:
As a transfer student last semester, I began working at the Carolina Women's Center as an office assistant. Through this job, I have had a chance to deal with many issues facing women faculty, staff and students.
To this end, I have been working with a group of volunteers organized by the CWC to identify strategies for addressing child care needs. One of the major goals has been to work with the Child Care Advisory Committee to compile a Needs Assessment Survey, which will be used to gauge the child care demands of students, staff and faculty.
On Monday, students, faculty and staff all over campus should have received an e-mail containing a link for the survey. It is very quick and simple, but it is crucial that as many people as possible complete the survey. Receiving a large number of responses is necessary to get an accurate picture of UNC's child-care needs. This information will then be used to determine what the University can do to address these needs.
