Case of meningitis confirmed on UNC campus Thursday
A case of bacterial meningitis, Neisseria meningitidis, was confirmed Thursday at UNC. A student living in Morrison Residence Hall was admitted to UNC Hospitals on Tuesday after experiencing symptoms of the bacterial illness.
The student has not been named, but those who might have had contact with the student are being contacted. This is the second case of the infection in the past four months.
