Attorney to seek reduction of accused murderer’s bonds
Orange-Chatham Public Defender James Williams will seek a reduction in the bonds on which Andrew Douglas Dalzell is being held in Orange County Jail.
District Attorney Carl Fox said Thursday that Williams would seek the reduction in Orange County Superior Court on Jan. 25.
Dalzell has been charged with second-degree murder in the disappearance and presumed death of Carrboro resident Deborah Leigh Key. He is being held on a secured bond of $70,000 for the charge.
Dalzell also is being held on a separate $20,000 secured bond on six counts of felony exploitation of a minor, based on evidence found on his computer following his arrest on the murder charge in September.
