Reading lawsuit dismissed

Sept. 7 — A federal lawsuit that drew a whirl of attention to the University’s summer reading program two years ago has been dismissed in its entirety.

The decision, by U.S. District Court Judge N. Carlton Tilley Jr., ends a fiery fight that propelled UNC into a nationwide debate about academic freedom and the separation between church and state.
