The Hillsborough woman shot by her ex-boyfriend Thursday night is in stable condition at Duke Medical Center.
Tasha Renee Wardlow, 26, was found lying on the ground at her home at 570 Dixie Avenue in Hillsborough about 8 p.m., police reports state.
According to reports, Wardlow was shot in the stomach by her ex-boyfriend — Clarence Junior Williams, 30, of 110 Hayes St. in Hillsborough.
Williams then turned the gun on himself a few minutes later while sitting in his car on Harper Street, reports state.
He died from the single gunshot, fired from a handgun, reports state.
Wardlow was taken immediately to Duke University Medical Center, where she underwent surgery Friday.
Hospital officials said Sunday that they could only release information on her current condition, which as of press time was stable.
Police say Wardlow and Williams broke up about a month ago.
There was no recorded history of violence in the relationship, but officials say Wardlow told them Williams threatened her after the breakup.
