  • A Chapel Hill man was arrested on charges of possessing drug paraphernalia and speeding at 9:56 a.m. Wednesday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. According to reports, Francisco Navarez-Suastequi of 43 Woodland Path was arrested at the UNC parking lot on Estes Drive after he was observed driving his white Chevrolet at 67 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. A search of the vehicle yielded a "glass/metal marijuana smoking pipe" in the glove box with marijuana, reports state. Reports state that Navarez-Suastequi was released on a written promise He is to appear in District Criminal Court in Hillsborough on April 24.
  • Lionell Maurice Jenkins, also known as Maurice Lionell Jenkins of 100 W. Rosemary St. was arrested on misdemeanor charges of assault on a female, stalking and false imprisonment at 7:02 a.m. Thursday following an incident on Homestead Road the night before, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state Jenkins followed a woman to multiple locations and grabbed her arm. Jenkins was taken to the Orange County Jail on $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in District Criminal Court in Hillsborough on April 24, according to reports.
  • Tristan Houser of 1747 Legion Road was arrested on charges of larceny at 12:13 a.m. Thursday following a beer-thieving incident earlier at the Harris Teeter at 1800 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in which two individuals walked out without paying for brews, according to police reports. According to reports 18 Heinekens and 24 Yuenglings were stolen. The total amount of stolen beer was valued at $37.28. Houser was released on a written promise to appear in Hillsborough district court on May 22.
  • An employee of the Harris Teeter at University Mall on Estes Drive reported larceny at 6:34 p.m. Wednesday, Chapel Hill police reports state. According to reports, $162.90 worth of Bud Light and $20 worth of Iams dog food were stolen from the grocery store.
