George Lee Byrd, 43, of 1717 Purefoy Road was heard coughing at about 3:30 a.m. in the attic of the building by a UNC employee, who then called campus officers, police reports state.
Officers found Byrd sleeping in the attic.
Byrd told the officers he had played basketball in Fetzer Gym and took a shower earlier that evening before going to the attic to sleep, police reports state.
