A Carrboro man was arrested Saturday on charges of receiving or possessing a stolen motor vehicle, possession of a schedule II drug, and driving without a license, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
Reports state that Juwan Anthony Hester, 21, of 519 Smith Level Road Apt. 9 in Carrboro was discovered to be driving a stolen vehicle at 2:11 a.m. at the corner of West Franklin and North Roberson streets.
Upon further investigation, he also was found to be in possession of crack cocaine and driving while his license was revoked.
Reports state that Hester was transported to the Orange County Jail on a $10,000 secured bond. He was transferred to the custody of the sheriff's department and is scheduled to appear in court today.
A man arrested Thursday for drug violations also was charged with three probation violations in Durham, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
Reports state Rico Antinio Thompson, 28, of 500 S. Greensboro St. Apt. 6 in Carrboro, was arrested on charges of felony possession with intent to sell or distribute cocaine at 8:41 p.m. on Gomains Street. Thompson initially ran from police and threw 1.2 grams of crack cocaine before being arrested.
A probation officer came to the Chapel Hill Police Department after the arrest and served one felony and two misdemeanor probation warrants on Thompson, reports state.
Thompson was transported to the Orange County Jail on a $10,000 secured bond and was scheduled to appear in court Friday.
A UNC senior was arrested Friday night on charges of larceny, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
Reports state that Matthew Garrett Field, 21, of 102 Fraternity Court, was cited and released after taking the sign from Syd's Hair Shop on West Rosemary Street. The sign was valued at $50.
Field is scheduled to appear in court May 15.
An incident of breaking and entering was reported Thursday on Wesley Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
Reports state that an unknown suspect broke out a glass door and entered the residence, stealing a bike, jewelry and coins estimated to be worth a total of $6,425.
Police recovered $4,450 of the stolen goods, reports state.
Two people were arrested and charged with assault at about 10 p.m. Friday at 139 Mallard Court, according to Chapel Hill Police reports.
Reports state Steven Lee Woodham, 34, an employee of Players who lives at Mallard Court, was arrested on charges of assault on a female.
Reports state Stacey Lee Lafrance, 24, of 8509 Flying Buttress Drive in Raleigh was arrested on charges of simple assault and possession of marijuana.
Both were taken to the Chapel Hill Police Department, brought before the magistrate and then transported to the Orange County Jail without bond and are scheduled to appear in court May 17.
