A Chapel Hill man was arrested at 3:52 p.m. Monday on charges of driving while impaired, Chapel Hill Police reports state.
Gregorio Aparicio, 27, of 130 Woodbridge Drive, was stopped by police after he was seen speeding on U.S. 15-501 near Southern Village, according to reports.
He was arrested on charges of driving while impaired, having an open container, driving without liability insurance, driving with a suspended license and speeding, reports state.
According to reports, Aparicio refused to take the Intoxilizer 5000 test to determine his blood alcohol content.
Aparicio was taken to Orange County Jail where he was held in lieu of $5,000 secured bail, reports state.
He is scheduled to appear in Administrative Traffic Court on Oct. 3.
Several larcenies from cars were reported Monday, according to Chapel Hill police reports.
A $100 Coach change purse was stolen from a car parked at 440 W. Rosemary St., according to a report filed at 9 p.m. Reports state that the car window was open during the incident.
Another vehicle larceny was reported at 5:05 p.m. at 108 N. Graham St., reports state. According to reports, $300 worth of compact discs and a book bag, valued at $30, were stolen.
A suspect stole three credit cards and $400 cash from a car Monday afternoon at 120 S. Estes Drive, according to reports. The suspect also used the credit card, reports state. Police are investigating the incident and the credit card fraud.
Tools valued at $900 were taken from a car parked at 1808 N. Fordham Blvd., reports state.
A wallet and $100 cash were reported stolen at 7:29 a.m. from a car at 105 Mill Road Drive, according to police reports.
