  • A man was arrested at 12:20 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Sykes and Craig streets on felony charges of possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state Ronald Bynum, 49, of 309 Mitchell Lane, was found with a crack rock and a pipe on him. Bynum was released on a written promise to appear in District Criminal Court in Hillsborough on Sunday, according to reports.
  • A student was arrested at 3:46 a.m. Sunday on Fordham Boulevard on charges of driving while impaired, failing to report an accident and possessing an invalid license, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state Jaineet Gala, 20, of 119 Maxwell St., was transported to UNC Hospitals after being involved in an accident.
  • An incident of trespassing and communicating threats was reported at 2:29 p.m. Saturday at 215 N. Graham St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state a suspect came onto the property and threatened to kill everybody.
  • Two incidents of breaking and entering a vehicle were reported Saturday night at the parking lot at 215 E. Rosemary St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state that a suspect entered fabric-topped cars by cutting open the fabric, but didn't take anything. One vehicle, a Jeep wrangler, suffered $600 in damage to the top, and the other, a convertible, was left with $1,000 in damage, according to reports.
  • An incident of damage to property was reported at 6:32 p.m. Saturday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state a suspect spray painted the parking lot of Resolute Building Co. at 501 Eastowne Drive, causing $100 in damage.
  • A student was arrested at 7:00 a.m. Saturday on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, on charges of simple assault resulting in minor injuries to another subject, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state Matthew Telford, 20, of 208 Green St. was released on written promise to appear in District Criminal Court in Hillsborough on Oct. 30.
