  • An incident of breaking and entering was reported at 3:46 p.m. Tuesday on Hickory Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports. An iPod, valued at $299, was reported stolen. The incident is under further investigation.
  • A forced entry was reported at 7:39 a.m. Tuesday at 317 Caldwell St., a public housing building, Chapel Hill police reports state. Police reports state that a screwdriver or pry device was used to open a door. Reports state $2,000 worth of computer hardware and software was stolen. The break in is under further investigation.
  • A french horn was reported stolen from the rear seat of an unlocked 1997 Jeep Cherokee on Tuesday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The incident was reported at 8:18 a.m. on McMasters Street. The french horn was valued at $2,500.
  • An incident of breaking and entering was reported a 1:41 p.m. Tuesday in a parking lot at 108 W. Cameron Ave., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Police reports state that the windows of a 2004 Ford Taurus were left down, resulting in the theft of $2,570 worth of golf equipment and supplies.
  • An incident of fraud was reported Monday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Tyndall Galleries at 201 S. Estes Drive reported that a painting, worth $2,800, might have been purchased with a stolen credit card. The incident is believed to have occurred between July 28 and Aug. 28, reports state.
  • A dumpster fire was reported at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday at 1 Ehringhaus Drive, according to University police reports. According to reports, the fire took place in a parking lot area outside of Ehringhaus Residence Hall. Reports state that there were no injuries or damages.
  • A bicycle was stolen at 10 p.m. Tuesday at 1 Dental Research, according to University police reports. Reports state that a 20-year-old Baity Hill resident chained his bicycle to a rack before it was stolen. The bicycle was registered with the UNC Department of Public Safety and was worth $300.
