Built to Spill has had a changing lineup since its creation in 1992 with leadman/guitarist Doug Martsch at the helm. He wanted each record to have a different lineup, and for a while that's what he did.
Now in 2006 and seven albums later, Martsch has a steady lineup, a new record and a new tour.
Built to Spill is at Cat's Cradle for not one, but two shows - one Wednesday, one tonight.
The band was supposed to play the shows last year, but was postponed due to an eye injury suffered by Martsch.
Guitarist Jim Roth took time out before a show in New York to talk to Diversions staff writer Beth Mechum.
