  • A robbery was reported at 11:49 p.m. Sunday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. According to reports, an unknown suspect held a victim at gunpoint while the suspect rummaged through the house. Two IBM Thinkpad laptops, valued at $1,000, and a purse were stolen, reports state.
  • A man was arrested at 2:44 a.m. Sunday on charges of assault on a female, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Rolando Mendez, 25, of 111 Pinegate Circle, was arrested in the parking lot of Pine Gate Apartments and was taken to Orange County Jail without bail, reports state. Mendez is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 20, according to reports.
  • A vehicle theft was reported at 2:34 p.m. Saturday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state a 1997 green Ford Escort, valued at $5,000, was taken from the driveway at 6 Ellen Place.
  • Michelle Mize, 28, of Plano, Texas, was arrested at 3:48 p.m. Saturday at 138 Essek Road on charges of soliciting without a permit, Chapel Hill police reports state. According to reports, Mize is an employee of Extreme Chemical Co. and was selling cleaning supplies. Mize was secured at Orange County Jail in lieu of $160 bail and was scheduled to appear Nov. 13 in District Criminal Court, reports state.
  • Two men were arrested on charges of public affray at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Brahim Benbenu, 26, of Graham, and Jeremy Steele, 23, of 658 Pine Acres Drive, were charged for fighting on a public sidewalk at 168 E. Franklin St., outside of Aladdin's Grill & Catering, reports state. According to reports, both men are scheduled to appear in District Criminal Court on Nov. 13.
  • An incident of larceny was reported at 1:50 p.m. Saturday, Chapel Hill police reports state. Reports state five pounds of meat, valued at $10, were removed by an unknown suspect from a freezer at 1250 Ephesus Church Road.
