  • Several incidents of breaking and entering and larceny from a vehicle were reported between 7:19 a.m. and 5:11 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Ridge apartments at 1100 N.C. 54, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state $1,050 worth of damage was caused to seven vehicles, including two Honda Civics, two Toyota Corollas and a Pontiac Firebird. Reports state electrical equipment and clothing, valued at $2,095, was stolen from the vehicles. All cases have been closed until more leads can be found.
  • Richard Lofton Bagnal III, 27, of Winston-Salem, was arrested at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday at Marriott Drive on a charge of hit-and-run, Chapel Hill police reports state. According to reports, Bagnal failed to stop his vehicle at a collision that occurred Monday on Summerwalk Circle. Bagnal is scheduled to appear Dec. 5 in District Criminal Court in Chapel Hill, reports state.
  • A man was arrested early Thursday on a charge of driving while impaired, Chapel Hill police reports state. Alexander Collins Barnes, 22, of 610 Miller St., was arrested at the corner of South Estes Drive and East Franklin Street, reports state. Reports state Barnes is scheduled to appear Dec. 5 at District Criminal Court.
  • An incident of larceny was reported at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, University police reports state. According to reports, a bicycle was stolen from the northwest corner of Old East Residence Hall. The bicycle was last seen at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
