Police log

  • A UNC senior reported his home broken into Monday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Reports state $95 worth of jewelry and an IBM Thinkpad laptop were stolen from 525 Hillsborough St. Another person reported that his iPod was stolen from the house, according to reports. The incident is under further investigation.
  • Two shotguns and several boxes of ammunition were discovered inside of an improperly parked vehicle about 2 a.m. Monday, according to University police reports. The vehicle, a 2004 black GMC Yukon, was parked in the Morehead parking lot. A campus officer on foot patrol inspected the vehicle and discovered the firearms and bullets, reports state. The vehicle was towed off campus.
  • A woman was arrested on felony drug possession charges at 2:02 a.m. Tuesday near Nunn Street, Chapel Hill police reports state. Nancy Burger, 51, of 997 N.C. 54 West, was arrested on felony charges of cocaine possession and misdemeanor possession of a crack pipe, reports state. Burger also was arrested on charges of a stop sign violation and driving left of center, according to reports. She was taken to Orange County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail, reports state. Burger was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
  • A man was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Monday on the 200 block of West Franklin Street on charges of assaulting an officer, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Glenn Grace, 55, whose address was listed as the streets, also was arrested on charges of resisting arrest, reports state. He is being held in lieu of $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in District Criminal Court on Jan. 8, reports state.
