TO THE EDITOR:
Neither Dr. B.J. Lawson nor his campaign ever called Congressman David Price a ""liar.""
We did often call him out for untruthful assertions" such as the implicit accusation on his campaign Web site that Dr. Lawson supports the financial deregulation that contributed significantly to the current crisis. Calling one out for untruthful statements doesn't equate to calling one a liar.
Lawson for Congress went to meticulous lengths to source all claims when referencing Congressman Price's voting record and statements.
Attacking one's record doesn't equate to attacking one's character.
I am immeasurably proud to have served on Dr. Lawson's campaign. He is a man of remarkable civility and integrity who conducted his campaign with a trans-partisan approach and a substantive focus on our pressing challenges.
This starkly contrasts with Congressman Price's campaign which employed divisive partisan rhetoric and trivialized Dr. Lawson's positions with oversimplifications.
Despite this year's election result my friend — and hero — Dr. B.J. Lawson has a bright future of serving our community and nation.
