UNC striker Brian Shriver selected in MLS SuperDraft
North Carolina striker Brian Shriver was chosen in the second round of Thursday's MLS SuperDraft as the 27th overall selection.
Shriver chosen by FC Dallas will return to Frisco Texas' Pizza Hut Park where the Tar Heels competed for the College Cup in December.
Shriver led the team with 14 goals last season including the only score against No. 1 Wake Forest in the national semifinals in Frisco.
Shriver earned first team All-ACC first team All-Region by NSCAA and College Cup All-Tournament Team honors for his work during the season.
Shriver will join former teammate Dax McCarty who graduated in 2006 and was taken in the first round of that draft at FC Dallas.
