Ed Davis is looking forward to playing another year for the Tar Heels and will skip the NBA Draft this season" he said in a statement released by UNC Athletics on Sunday.
""I am returning to North Carolina for my sophomore season and will not apply for the NBA Draft" Davis said in the statement.
I love being a student at Carolina and playing with my teammates for Coach (Roy) Williams. I'd like to play in the NBA someday" but my family and I don't think I'm ready to take that step.""
Davis was projected to go as high as the No. 10 pick in this year's NBA Draft after averaging 6.7 points and 6.6 rebounds for the season and 8.2 points and 5.5 boards in the six NCAA Tournament games.
""We are ecstatic with Ed's and his family's decision to remain at North Carolina" Williams said in the statement.
I truly enjoy coaching him. We always try to recommend what is best for each individual young man. Ed's family and I did discuss his options after the season" and we are happy that he will continue to be a Tar Heel.""
