UNC students showed an intolerance to intolerance

TO THE EDITOR:

Good for the students! Former U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo's R-Colo." was invited to speak at UNC by a group of radicals. And yet he is appalled at the intolerance that was shown? He claims that our institutions have ""radicalized"" our students? Where have you been" Tom?

Our colleges have always been the birthplace of progressivism and idealism. Has the man forgotten the civil rights protests of the 1960s? Those students often disrupted speeches by individuals who insisted on preserving human rights only for the establishment. Poor Mr. Tancredo. I suppose he forgot all about that while he was dozing in his cushy entitled existence. Keep to your elitist circles Tom. You're not wanted at UNC.
