ARLINGTON, TX – A searing run to close the first half put No. 2 Texas in control and No. 10 North Carolina couldn’t make up the deficit in the second half, falling 103-90 to the Longhorns.
The game in Cowboys Stadium was competitive throughout, but an inability to keep up with Texas (10-0) on the glass ultimately doomed the Tar Heels (8-3).
The Longhorns’ Damion James and Dexter Pittman snagged 15 rebounds each as their team held a 60-41 advantage on the glass. Ed Davis had 21 points and four blocks for UNC, while Marcus Ginyard added 13 points.
