Charleston, S.C. — Andrew Goudelock and the College of Charleston Cougars opened Monday night's game with 20 minutes toe-to-toe with the No. 9 North Carolina Tar Heels — and so far, the Cougars are the ones on top.
Adrew Goudelock and Donovan Monroe are both in double figures at the break as UNC trails, 37-36. Ed Davis leads UNC with nine points at the break.
After 20 minutes, College of Charleston has hit just about everything its throw up. The Cougars are shooting 44.4 percent from the field, compared to 36.8 for UNC. The Tar Heels are 0-for-2 from beyond the arc, which C of C is 4-for-14.
Playing without wing players Will Graves and Marcus Ginyard, North Carolina started Dexter Strickland and David Wear. So far, Strickland has 13 minutes and is 0-for-5 on the night. Wear played eight minutes and went 1-for-2 from the field in the opening period. The two have combined for four points.
