Kenneth Strong, UNC professor and member of PlayMakers Repertory Company, died Tuesday afternoon.
Strong was known in the community for his many appearances in PlayMakers productions and his classes in the Department of Dramatic Arts. He most recently was cast as Newman Noggs in “Nicholas Nickelby," though he did not appear. He has been in productions with the company since 1979.
Strong also appeared in Broadway, off-Broadway and regional theater productions. He has also appeared in several television shows and movies.
As his health declined, Strong’s friends and family used the Web site CaringBridge to receive updates on his health, schedules visits with him and leave messages for him. The site is still in operation for those wishing to find out more information or leave comments.
