TO THE EDITOR:
Thank you, Alex Williams. Thank you for not only teaching young people to perceive each other in such a negative light, but to also attach it to UNC students. Unfortunately, people in America are only taught what to think and not how to think.
Males are taught to believe the wrong things about females and females are taught to believe the wrong thing about males.
How can a young person think anything else when they are repeatedly exposed to these ideas? How can students at UNC go out to social events, parties, or Franklin Street when we are inclined to view each other so negatively? Is it a surprise why relationships and marriages do not work?
Not only do you fail to properly quote people, you fail to realize how your findings are true only because people have been trained previously to generalize everyone else with these ideas.
