A 52-year-old man was arrested on weapon, drug and assault charges at 4:03 a.m. Thursday at 310 W. Franklin St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Larry Phillip Horton was charged with assault by strangulation, possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a concealed handgun, weapon possession by a felon, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 secured bond, reports state.
