The Daily Tar Heel

TO THE EDITOR:

I was eager about trying the new registration system, ConnectCarolina. There was a lot of hype surrounding its debut. I prepared myself by experimenting with the online tutorials and even had the luxury of attending their Pit event to ask questions.

I was apprehensive that the program seemed too good to be true — but registration day came and everything was smooth sailing. I logged on, fine tuned my shopping cart and clicked the registration button. Sure enough, many of the classes I desired to enroll in were added to my schedule.

I know some of my friends complained about the process a bit, but I am certain had they taken the time to complete the online tutorials, like I did, their registration process would have been as smooth as mine.

With all the chatter, positive and negative, going on about ConnectCarolina, it’s important to remember to give new things a chance. People often fret change but this program is intended to make the lives of students easier.

Kinks are expected with new programs thus it is our job to give feedback to ConnectCarolina to truly make it the best registration system available to the student. Those in charge of the program have done a great job of answering inquiries and keeping students up to date on the latest changes with the program. Let’s keep an open mind to the great potential this program has to offer.
