Three Durham men were arrested on felony charges of breaking and entering a vehicle Friday in related incidents, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Saul Benitez-Benitez, 23, received an additional felony charge possession of stolen goods and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest and was arrested at 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of Franklin Street and Roosevelt Drive, reports state. He was sent to Orange County Jail in lieu of a $14,500 secured bond, reports state.Miguel Jimenez-Yepez, 22, received an additional felony charge of possession of stolen goods and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest and was arrested at 6:21 p.m. at the same location. He was placed in Orange County Jail in lieu of an $11,000 secured bond. Villibaldo Sanchez-Lopez, 32, received additional misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and failure to stop for lights and siren and was arrested at 6:21 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 15-501 and Raleigh Road, reports state. He was sent to Orange County Jail in lieu of a $25,150 bond, reports state.
A 19-year-old Raleigh woman was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of possession of .8 grams of marijuana at 3 a.m. Saturday, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Linda Georgina Garcia was the front-seat passenger and the owner of a car that was stopped for a traffic violation, reports state. Police found marijuana when they searched the car.
Demontay Rayshawn Charles, 18, of Chapel Hill, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of assault on a teacher, damage to property and disorderly conduct at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Phoenix Academy, according to Chapel Hill police reports. He was released on a $20,000 unsecured bond, reports state.
