Students shouldn’t text while crossing the street

TO THE EDITOR:

While I was on campus yesterday, I was appalled to see female students walking around texting. I even saw two girls texting while crossing busy Manning Drive, near where there have been fatal pedestrian accidents in recent memory!

Please save the texting for when you get to your destination, girls, and while you are walking around, pay attention to your surroundings. A large part of your personal safety depends on being alert and aware. Take care!
