The North Carolina baseball team was swept this weekend by No. 13 Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. dropping the Tar Heels to 22-16 on the season, 6-12 in the ACC.
Junior Matt Harvey, who had not allowed a single home run all season entering the series, gave up three solo homers to the Hurricanes in UNC’s 7-5 loss on Friday.
After a blowout 11-1 loss on Saturday, UNC found itself with a 7-5 lead late in Sunday’s game. But Miami scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to add to UNC’s loss total.
Miami first baseman Scott Lawson scored the winning run in that game off a wild pitch thrown by junior Nate Striz.
